Please refer to the directions in your weekly email or contact Amelie to participate.
Parish Retreats at Shrine Mont Annually, members of our St. John’s family hold a parish retreat and program at Shrine Mont, a conference and retreat center of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia located in beautiful Orkney Springs, Virginia. Members replenish their spiritual and physical strength. Click here to learn about this year’s retreat October 18-20.
Tuesday Morning Knitting Circle In the Parish House library each Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome to join, and you do not need to know how to knit to participate. In fact, if you’re interested in learning, this group provides helpful instruction. And, the knitters want you to know that they will provide the yarn and needles to get you started. Other crafts are welcome. Knitting Circle will not meet until further notice.
Young Adults Group If you’re in your 20s or 30s, you’ll want to be a part of this vibrant group of peers who meet regularly to socialize and serve the community.
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and Wednesday Lenten Supper Series The observance of a Holy Lent at St. John’s is important to us. As members of Christ’s Body we prepare for Easter through self-examination, repentance, prayer, fasting and by reading and meditating on God’s Word to share in our Lord’s passion and resurrection. Visitors are welcome and encouraged to share in this time of preparation. We gather each Wednesday night during the five weeks before Palm Sunday at 6:00 p.m. for a simple meal and a program. The program planned for the 2020 Lenten season will resume when social distancing ends.
National Night Out Ice Cream Social National Night Out is an annual event, locally supported by the Richmond Police Department, that aims to lower crime rates by bringing citizens outdoors to meet their neighbors. It’s free and open to the public, so bring your friends and family. If you’d like to help, please email Heather Jones. We need volunteers to show up early to set-up and to stay after to clean-up.
