Pastoral Care
Providing hope, help, and care
The Pastoral Care team works with the rector to support parishioners during transitions and challenges. Rotating the point person each month, the team provides various services, including home visits; sending notes, cards and flowers; running errands; and preparing meals. They also send weekly bulletins and news to parishioners who cannot attend services.
Through regular communications with our Rector and the parish administrator, the team keeps abreast of those at St. John’s needing care. If you are interested joining this team, please contact Barbara Bayler.
If you need pastoral assistance of have a pastoral emergency, please contact our Parish Office at 804-649-7938 or contact our rector, Amelie Wilmer.
Annual Pastoral Care Meeting with Supper
If you would like to find out more about this important ministry at St. John’s, plan to join co-chairs Rita Driscoll and Barbara Bayler and the rest of the committee for a meeting and supper on Thursday, January 16, at 6:00 pm. at Barbara's home.
You will be under no obligation to become a part of the ministry, but we would love to tell you about what we do for the folks in our parish who need pastoral support.
Please contact Barbara Bayler or Rita Driscoll for more information.

Pastoral Care--Opportunities to Assist
Many of you have asked how you can help our Pastoral Care team provide care to our members during times of need.
Here are two very helpful ways to assist:
deliver meals to members during recovery or illness (they don't need to be homemade!)
drive members to and from appointments.
If you are interested in helping, please contact Rita Driscoll, our vestry liaison to Pastoral Care.
